About Cathy Russell
Energy, enthusiasm, and experience combine to make Cathy Russell the number one agent in the Lafayette area! In 2015, she earned the spot as the number one agent in the Lafayette Regional Association of Realtors by successfully closing more than 225 properties for more than $35M in sales volume in her 42nd year in the business.
Cathy began her Real Estate career in 1974, after graduating from Purdue University in home planning and working in the building industry. After raising her three children, she returned to Coldwell Banker Sycamore Realty in 1989. Putting heavy emphasis on further education led Cathy to break several top-producing records, including being named one of the top 10 agents for Coldwell Banker International from 1992-1996 and she eventually became the number one agent. During that time, she also served as a member of the Chi Omega Alumnae group, and President of the Lafayette Symphony Guild.
In 1998, she established her own Real Estate Agency—Cathy Russell Team Real Estate. Her team once achieved more than $42M in closed sales volume and more than 300 closed properties.
She’s not retiring, but now enjoying watching her oldest and youngest children take the helm as the 2nd generation owners of the company she started, which is now renamed “The Russell Company.”
Cathy is a loyal Purdue University Alum who bleeds black and gold. She has given one scholarship per year for the last 30 years, and is a 44-year member of the John Purdue Club. Mother of three and grandmother of eight now, she continues to emphasize learning, doing your best and helping people get what they want out of life, all the while having FUN!

The oldest of Cathy’s three children, Brian is committed to the team, the clients and the Greater Lafayette community. Her husband’s career as a television news reporter has taken their family all over the Hoosier state. In 2004, she started her real estate career under the shadow of the golden dome in South Bend, Ind., selling for Cressy & Everett Real Estate. From there, they went to Indianapolis where Stacy joined a top-producing Keller-Williams Team as a listing specialist.
Now, a decade later, Stacy is thrilled to be returning to her hometown of West Lafayette to join forces with the real estate powerhouse that is her Mom. Cathy Russell has been a multi-million dollar producer for more than thirty years. Stacy’s older brother, Brian, is her business partner and the go-to guy for big ideas.
Stacy has a college degree (BA, Telecommunications, Ball State University), but has gotten her best education from the school of life. She has attended many expensive and exciting seminars and conventions and has quite the alphabet soup behind her name (e-PRO, G.R.I, CRS.) She acknowledges that many people don’t know or care what those letters mean, though they mean something to her. She is also a member of the 2010 Class of the Indiana Realtor’s Leadership Academy.
Stacy is married to her very best friend and the best-looking guy she has ever seen. Together, they’ve created three beautiful, crazy kids as is evidenced by her constant stream of Instagram posts.
